Week of May 20, 2019:

Hello middle school students and families:

  • Thank you to all of the chaperones who sacrificed their time (and their REM cycles) to accompany the middle school students on their respective trips. We are deeply grateful to all of you!
  • MAP testing has wrapped up in the middle school. However, some students have not quite completed their tests, or were absent on some testing days. If you need to complete or make up a test, one of your teachers will let you know.
  • 6th graders will have a checkpoint quiz on forests of the Pacific Northwest this week; 7th graders will have a quiz on work, power, energy, and simple machines; 8th graders will have a quiz on the the genetic code (central dogma).
  • Students, now that spring break is in the past, MAP testing is over, and you’ve returned from your class trips, it may be tempting to believe that the school year is essentially over, and that we can all just coast to the end. However, such a belief is not reflected in objective reality. We have 4.5 weeks left, and we here at St. John School fully intend to make of most of these next few weeks. You’re not actually at the end yet.

Have a pleasant and very productive week,

Sven Tice
