Week of November 28, 2016

Hello, middle school students and families:

I hope you’ve all had a joyous and relatively restful Thanksgiving break. Here’s what’s going on in science and algebra I this week:

  • We will begin each week in Advent with prayer in the church at 8:20 on Monday mornings, starting this week.
  • The end of the first trimester was on Tuesday, November 22; report cards will be going home on Thursday, November 1.
  • 7th and 8th graders, it’s time to start thinking about the topic of your research paper, which should be related to your science fair project idea.
  • The 6th graders will have their science test, on microorganisms, on Monday, December 5.
  • Algebra I students have their test on exponential expressions on Tuesday, November 6.
  • 8th graders will continue to work on basic chemistry for the next 10-14 days. Plan on having a test before the beginning of Christmas break.
  • 7th graders will begin working on engineering design principles this week.

Have a wonderful, hopefully drier week,

Sven Tice

Exploring microorganisms

Hello middle school students and families:

  • The first trimester ends on Tuesday, November 22. If you have any missing assignments, I will need to have them before that date.
  • The 6th graders will have a test on the characteristics of microorganisms on Tuesday, November 22.
  • The 7th graders will also have a test on November 22, on Newtonian physics
  • Both the 7th and 8th graders should be thinking about a topic for their research papers. The topic should be related to their science or engineering project.

Have a great week,

Sven Tice
